Hawaiian premium footwear brand OluKai arrives in the Philippines!
For Immediate Release: With so many different brands to choose from, footwear has become less about comfort and functionality as opposed to style. The Primer Group of Companies’ newest footwear brand, OluKai, however has managed to successfully merge the two with its latest collection of sandals and beach shoes.
OluKai, whose brand name is derived from the words “Olu” for Ocean and “Kai” for comfort, embodies the quintessential carefree, laidback lifestyle. The Brand’s footwear is comfortable and durable enough to withstand a day in the sun, sand, and salty-waters, yet stylish enough to wear around the malls on weekends.
Inline with the brand’s motto, invited VIPs along with personalities from the nation’s most prestigious publications were brought to sponsor Landco Pacific Corporation’s venue, Terrazas de Punta Fuego, Batangas, to experience firsthand the OluKai lifestyle. Arriving April 2nd, guests grabbed a quick bite to eat before heading off to the beach to enjoy relaxing massages, henna tattoos and poi lessons by the water, as well as a myriad of other water activities such as banana boating, jet skiing and kayaking. At night, guests were transported to the Peak, which overlooks the beautiful Terrazas coastline, where they watched a one-of-a-kind fashion show introducing OluKai’s latest collections, including but not limited to:
- Makai, which is perfect for life by and in the water given its premium material and refined outsoles;
- Mauka with its careful stitching, etching and embossing complimented with natural leathers; and
- Akua, which features native Polynesian artwork and had sewn details against full grain Italian leather.
The fashion show also had performances by Polynesian dancers and fire twirlers and was capped off by a spectacular firework display.
When asked what his initial thoughts were, Raphael Kiefer replied, “The sandals look good and are surprisingly comfortable.” He goes on to say, “I really like how I can go in and out of the water with them and they don’t get waterlogged liked other sandals.” Brother and GMA artist, Marvin Kiefer shared similar sentiments, stating, “Most sandals are so hard at first and take so long to break in, but with OluKai, the first time I put them on they fit perfectly to the shapes of my feet.”
After the event, guests returned to the hotel where they relaxed and enjoyed drinks by the ocean. In the morning, they were once again brought to the beach where many relaxed under the sun while others were more adventurous going wakeboarding and boating before heading back to Manila mid-afternoon. Moving forth, Primer Group of Companies Chief Operating Officer, Jacky Quintos, stated that “this is just the beginning of OluKai in the Philippines. Plans are to focus not only on sandals but the full line of OluKai sandals.”
