MUTYA NG PILIPINAS

ARE YOU IN OR ARE YOU OUT?

Mutya ng Pilipinas Enters Fashion Runway with Philippines’ Fashion Elites

For Immediate Release: The fashion in this year’s Mutya ng Pilipinas competition is about to get hotter. Scribbleworks Production, Inc., which recently signed to acquire the rights to manage the elite national beauty pageant, has hired principal fashion stylist, Charmaine Grace Palermo. The pageant will take place at Resorts World Manila, the 2010 Mutya ng Pilipinas partner venue, on August 28th, 2010.

Ms. Palermo began her fashion career as a model for print and in runway. She discovered her ultimate passion in styling and she has built an illustrious career as a much sought-after stylist in the local fashion industry. “I’m really excited to work with the Mutya ng Pilipinas Organization. I’m already busy trying to secure local designers to sponsor parts of the competition such as Terno, Swimsuit and Long Gown.”

To raise the glamour factor, the beauty pageant will feature designs by local Philippine designer Charina Sarte. All 24 candidates will wear Charina Sarte swimwear for the Swimsuit Competition, as part of the pageant airing nationally on September 5th, 2010 on ABS-CBN. In addition, a preliminary Swimsuit competition will be held in a Partner Province.

Tourism, along with beauty and fashion, will take center stage in this year’s pageant. Ms. Tati Fortuna, Managing Director of Scribbleworks, says, “I want a cohesive message for this year’s pageant. We really want to highlight some of the most beautiful tourist spots in our country, because Mutya ng Pilipinas is really about promoting Philippine tourism. We will hold preliminary events and photo shoots in our Partner Provinces. Continue to check our website for regular updates as we post more contents such as photos and videos as the competition goes on.”

Moreover, Mark Chester Ang will preside over the role of official pageant photographer this year. Mr. Ang’s credits include high fashion editorials in the top Philippine magazines as well as works in print advertisement.
